FortisBC lists appliance maintenance rebates for eligible residential customers, from $50 up to a combined maximum of $150, depending on which eligible gas appliances, such as a furnace or boiler, a tankless water heater and fireplaces, are serviced by a licensed gas contractor. Applications are due within 60 days, and current eligibility, service requirements and deadlines apply. Rebates for replacing a gas furnace with another standalone gas furnace are no longer available.
If a maintenance visit finds a major problem on an older furnace, replacement can be better value than repair. A new furnace installation starts from $6,000, quoted in writing after a free in-home estimate, and qualifying residential installations include a 10-year parts and labour warranty. Brands we install include Trane, Continental, York, Ducane, Lennox and Bosch. For qualifying residential properties, FortisBC offers a dual fuel heating system rebate of up to $4,000, or up to $8,000 for income-qualified customers, when a gas furnace at least 15 years old is replaced with a qualifying central ducted heat pump and compatible high-efficiency gas furnace.
