Heat Pump Installation Surrey: FAQ
How much does heat pump installation cost in Surrey?
Heat pump installation typically costs $3,000 to $5,500 for a ductless single-zone system and $6,000 to $14,000 for central or multi-zone systems. Final pricing depends on the system, number of zones, ductwork, electrical capacity and site conditions, and every installation is quoted in writing after a free in-home estimate.
What rebates are available for heat pump installation in Surrey?
FortisBC offers a dual fuel heating system rebate of up to $4,000, or up to $8,000 for income-qualified customers, for qualifying systems installed on or after October 15, 2026, when a gas furnace at least 15 years old is replaced with a new heat pump and gas furnace system. Eligibility and terms apply. BC Hydro and CleanBC income-qualified programs also offer heat pump rebates, and amounts and eligibility change by program cycle.
How long does heat pump installation take?
Timing depends on the system type, number of zones, site conditions, permits and any electrical or ductwork changes. We confirm the expected schedule with your written installation estimate.
Does a heat pump work in Surrey winters?
Cold-climate heat pumps are designed to keep heating well below freezing, and Surrey winters are mild compared with most of Canada. The right system depends on the equipment's rated cold-weather capacity, your home's heat loss and system sizing, and whether a gas furnace is kept as backup in a dual fuel setup.
Which heat pump brands do you install?
We install brands including Trane, Bosch and Continental, among other major brands, and recommend equipment based on your property, budget and heating load. Heat pump work is performed by Red Seal certified HVAC technicians.
Do I need a permit for a heat pump installation in Surrey?
Permit and inspection requirements depend on the scope of the installation. We coordinate the required municipal and Technical Safety BC permits and inspections for your project.
Can a heat pump replace my furnace?
A heat pump can replace or work alongside a gas furnace, depending on your home's heat loss, ductwork, electrical capacity and goals. Pairing a heat pump with a new gas furnace in a dual fuel system may qualify for the FortisBC dual fuel rebate when the existing furnace is at least 15 years old.
Do you install heat pumps in high-rise and strata buildings in Surrey?
Yes. Heat pump installations are available for high-rise and strata buildings, including ductless and multi-zone systems for condos and apartments. We work with strata councils and property managers on access, scheduling and approvals, and installations are quoted in writing after a site assessment.
