"I called Vanheat Services when I was concerned that our older furnace may have a small gas leak... Despite the age of the furnace Shaun never tried to talk me into replacing any part of the furnace but did take the time to answer my questions about what my options were if the furnace did stop working in the future, including current rebates available through Fortis BC. Very knowledgeable, professional, and provided great customer service!"

Common GE Heat Pump Problems We Fix

Not heating or cooling enough

Possible causes include dirty filters or coils, restricted airflow, a refrigerant problem, a failing capacitor or fan motor, or a system that is undersized for the home. Diagnosis comes before any refrigerant is added.

Ice that does not clear

Some frost in cold weather is normal, and the defrost cycle should clear it. Heavy ice that stays on the outdoor unit can point to a defrost control, sensor, airflow or refrigerant problem.

Error codes or flashing lights

Indoor and outdoor units display fault codes when a sensor, communication or protection fault is detected. Note the code and tell us the model number when you book.

Water leaking from the indoor unit

A blocked condensate drain, a failed drain pump or a dirty coil can cause water to drip from an indoor head or air handler.

Unusual noises

Rattling, grinding, buzzing or loud cycling can come from fan motors, loose panels, electrical components or the compressor, and is worth diagnosing early.
